Hopefully the Start of Something New

Leo messed with the lapels of his jacket, hoping Neb had gotten to Anna in time. His owl was very reliable, however, Leo's sense of time was not. The ring box was like liquid fire in his pocket, and he felt as if everyone knew what he was doing. However, only he and the shopkeep knew what he was up to. By the end of the night, he hoped that one other person knew too. He decided not to go inside the little eating place, but rather wait for his lady to get there.

Leo ran a hand through his hair and fiddled with the box in his pocket. He was nervous, that much was true, and what guy wasn't before popping the question? He knew his only worry now was getting her to accept. He stood silently in the fading light as he waited for his destiny.

Annabelle walked into the café and looked around, she had received a letter from Leo, telling her to meet him here, she hadn't a clue what he wanted. Leo kept his letter short but she didn't mind, after all what was the harm in someone trying to spend some time with another person?

She toned down her grin to an excited smile as she spotted him, her smile turned to curiosity as she processed the expression on his face. He was nervous, that much was obvious, she shrugged off the building curiosity and made her way towards the table, seating herself across from him.

She smiled at the wizard as she set her bag down next to her, she had his Christmas presents in there, she thought this might be a good time to give them to him. "Hello Leo" she said cheerfully.

Leo jumped slightly, grinning brightly at Anna when he finally registered the fact that she was here. He would have to give Nebano a treat for doing a good job. He had sent a short letter to the woman sitting acros from him, and he reached in his pocket for his own christmas presents for Anna. He shrunk then down to make them easily accessible, since that seemed the most sensible to him.

"Hey there lovely," he said brightly, smiling at her from across the booth. He eyed the bag she had with curiosity. "Been doing some shopping there? Looks like you've been busy."

"The same could be said to you" Annabelle replied having noticed that he too had presents with him. The witch smiled widely at Leo before handing over her gift, albeit a bit nervously. "Merry Christmas, Love"

She pursed her lips together unsure of whether or not he would like it. Her gift had been a simple Pietersite double dog tag necklace with the names 'Leo' and 'Annabelle' engraved on them, the woman hadn't been shopping for another person in all her life (well except Cheeko, but he didn't count).

She hadn't the first clue as to what she should get the man but decided that she wouldn't know until he opened the gift himself. Glancing at the second package she had shrunk, she winced a little.

"Uhm, you probably shouldn't open that one until you reach your house" She said pointing to the shrunken package 'It'll most likely spill all over the table if he does' she thought remembering how hard it was to package the chocolate, without the wrapping exploding in her face.

He passed across a shrunken package to her, knowing full well how many candy he had gotten her. It was certainly a lot, but she deserved it he thought. "And save that one till you get home as well, lovely," he said, pointing to the smaller package.

He un-shrunk the package with her dress and heels in it before sliding that across the table. He also un-shrunk the three kits he had gotten her from the Bath and Beauty Supply shop, sliding over that bag as well. "Happy Christmas to you as well, lovely," he said, smiling at her as he carefully opened the present she had gotten him.

He blinked in surprise when he saw the dog tags. They were even engraved, and he picked the chain up carefully before putting it on. He ran his fingers over the tags and grinned over at Anna. "This is immaculate. Very well done, and a very interesting present. Thank you, Anna. This means a lot to me."
